I am finding myself working with many couples that are about to become empty nesters.  It can be exciting and daunting at the same time. It could mean a smaller home in downtown closer to fun!  It could mean moving closer to family.  It could mean moving into a one level home. It could mean having less to clean – Hallelujah!  There are many reasons empty nesters may want to move.

Welcome to your New Home!

Empty nesters often find they have lived in the same house for a great many years and have accumulated a fair amount of stuff in the process.  Heck I have only been in my current house for 5 years, but didn’t get rid of enough stuff when we moved, so now I am in Purge Mode.  When you are considering putting your home on the market, it’s a good idea to try to cut down on the amount of extra stuff in the house as it makes it feel bigger and more inviting.  Less is definitely more. If you are in the same boat as I am, and need assistance with this, I can introduce you to the organizers like Minima that I have worked with personally that helped me get rid of a ton of stuff!  If you would like to see first hand some of their work at my house, you can see a video about it on my OwnRVA Facebook Page.

So if you are soon to be empty nesters and would like to evaluate your options in terms of downsizing, please get in touch!   We can put together a free valuation of your current home as a first step.  Then I can help you come up with a strategic  plan to assist you moving forward into this next exciting stage of your lives!
