The charming neighborhood of Bellevue is located in the north side of Richmond. It is approximately one mile wide and half a mile wide, bordered on the east side by Brook Road and Hermitage on the West. Westbrook Ave provides the northern border and W Laburnam Ave is the southern edge.  Bellevue Avenue runs through the middle of the neighborhood.  There are over 1200 single family homes located in the Bellevue district.  Most of these homes are moderately sized, many with brick masonry and slate roofs. The lots of the homes north of Bellevue Avenue tend to be slightly larger and have larger lots.

The Bellevue Business District

There is also a vibrant business district that includes several great restaurants and shops. These are located on Bellevue Ave as well as Macarthur Avenue.  Here you will find Dots Back Inn, which was featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. Other great dining options include The Mill on Macarthur, Stir Crazy Café, and Zorba’s Pizza. If you are a wine enthusiast Once Upon a Vine is definitely worth visiting. It is also close in proximity to the Diamond if you enjoy baseball with the Richmond Flying Squirrels and other sporting events.

This neighborhood’s location is easily accessible to Interstate 95 and 64 so it makes commuting to other parts of the city.

Bellevue Area Schools

Some of the schools that service this area include Linwood Holton Elementary, Henderson Middle School, John Marshall HS, the New Community School and Veritas Classical Christian School.  Families that live in this neighborhood also have access to Maggie Walker Governor’s School (Application is required).
