I also have particular experience in working with historic properties. Having purchased, renovated and lived in one for over 15 years, and helping other family members and friends with their historic properties, I have lots of experience with historic homes. My historic home was located in the St Johns Church Historic in Church Hill, in Richmond’s East End. This particular property gave me hands on experience in not only renovating a historic home (I did a lot of the work myself), I also learned the processes of applying for and getting Virginia State Tax Credits and the challenges that occurred in that process, as well as tax abatement from the City of Richmond.
